This course covers:
- The decision making process
- Misrepresentation or failure to disclose a material fact
- The law covering overpayments of DWP benefits, and housing benefit and council tax benefit
- Methods of recovery
- Arguments which can be made against recovery
NB: This course does not cover tax credit overpayments, which are covered in our 'tax credits' course, nor social fund overpayments, which are covered in our course on 'The social fund'.
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Understand the process of decision making
- Identify the relevant law for overpayments
- Apply the law in your arguments against recovery
