Welfare Rights Adviser – Family Information Service

Organisation: London Borough of Camden
37 hours per week. £26,928 - £30,774 p.a. inc
Location: Camden
Deadline: 18/07/2008

You can make all the difference every day, as you provide welfare rights advice, information and casework to low-income residents – enabling them to maximise take-up of social security benefits, tax credits and grants. Many of those contacting your service will be parents and carers who are interested in training, work or childcare funding.

You will help to stabilise and increase their family income, across the whole range of benefits and tax credits, as they explore and take up these options. What's more, you will forge effective partnerships with statutory, community and voluntary organisations to establish effective referral systems and organise outreach sessions.

To take on this very rewarding role, you will require sound experience of welfare rights casework within a statutory or voluntary setting, backed by a high level of flexibility, empathy, and outstanding interpersonal skills.

For further information and to apply online 24 hours a day, please visit www.camden.gov.uk/jobs. Alternatively, you can print out and fill in the form, returning it by post to London Borough of Camden. Please quote the appropriate reference number in all correspondence.

Camden Council values the diversity of its community and aims to have a workforce that reflects this. We therefore encourage applications from all sections of the community.
