Welfare Rights Adviser - Income Maximisation Team

This role will be based in the Income Maximisation Team (part of the Promoting Independence Group in Adult Social Care). You will provide a customer focused casework service to people who need help with claiming benefits.

Whilst working with other teams, you will also assists people with banking and other financial services in order to improve financial capability for people aged 50+ and their carers.

This exciting opportunity requires someone who is sensitive and practical and who has the ability to find tailored solutions to money management issues.

Key Requirements - 

  • knowledge of welfare rights, in particular the benefits available to people over 50
  • dealing with challenging clients in a proactive manner when providing tailored solutions
  • sensitive and patient when supporting vulnerable people
  • building relations and working together with colleagues and external partners
  • ability to use Microsoft excel to record and input data
  • experience of providing complex benefits advice to vulnerable people within their homes and in an office setting
  • experience of financial capability issues e.g. access to bank accounts or money management problems

This role will require an enhanced CRB check.
