Nottingham City Council Welfare Rights Service is committed to addressing poverty and social exclusion, through the provision of specialist benefit and debt advice, targeted take-up campaigns and by addressing social policy issues.

Services are free, confidential and impartial, and delivered through community based advice sessions and via referrals from Social Care professionals.

We are now seeking to recruit to the following two temporary positions:

  • Post 1: Temporary until March 2011, based at the Bulwell Advice Centre (secondment cover).
  • Post 2: Temporary until November 2010 based at Players Court, Radford (Maternity leave cover).

You will provide advice and advocacy to residents of the North and West of the city, undertaking a varied caseload in welfare benefit and debt matters, including tribunal representation.

From your recent relevant experience, you will possess an up to date knowledge of the relevant law, which will enable you to advise and advocate on behalf of clients.
