St Joseph's Hospice was founded in 1905 and is one of the UK's largest hospices. We provide specialist palliative care for patients with cancer and other life-threatening conditions in East and North London.

This is a new post and the post holder will have responsibility for the provision of a service of advice, advocacy, practical assistance and signposting to patients, carers and their families at home and in the hospice in attaining the correct level of Department of Work and Pensions benefits, other welfare and health related benefits and financial grants and services as well as the day to day supervision of a small team of Welfare Benefit Assistants.

To succeed, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate in their career to date evidence of a good understanding of a wide range of health and social benefits, successful experience in advice and welfare rights work, relevant and up to date welfare and health related benefits skills and knowledge gained from undertaking recognised training courses in order to provide an accurate, specific and tailored advisory service to clients.
