This is an 18 month contract (2 days per week for the first 10 months and thereafter 1.5 days per week for the remaining 8 months), with further extensions subject to funding.
As part of Barnet CAB’s innovative approach to service delivery we have obtained funding to set up an email advice project. You will be leading this project by providing an email advice and information service which will be targeted at local voluntary sector organisations providing services to vulnerable groups and to carers.
We intend to extend the service by using volunteer advisers and part of the role will involve supervising volunteer email advisers as the project develops.
You will have -
- At least two years’ full-time (or part time equivalent) recent experience of generalist advice work.
- Experience of working to Citizens Advice, Legal Services Commission or equivalent quality standards, and an understanding of the importance of procedures and supervision.
- Ability to manage a volume of email advice enquiries and prioritise work in the face of competing demands and to meet targets set by the line manager and funder.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills including the ability to lead, support and develop a volunteer team of email advisers.
