LSC announce publication of Strategic Plan
Transforming Legal Aid
The Legal Services Commission (LSC) has announced the publication of their Strategic Plan for the next 3 years - 'Transforming Legal Aid'. The Plan highlights the LSC's direction from being an organisation that administers legal aid towards one that procures legal aid for their clients.
'Transforming Legal Aid' outlines the LSC's 3 key strategic objectives:
- Maiximise access to quality services to meet diverse needs of the clients we serve;
- Deliver a sustainable Legal aid scheme and an efficient and diverse organisation;
- Ensure the efficient and effective delivery of justice and wider government priorities.
Some of their key themes this year are:
- Commitment to working closely with providers and their representative bodies so that they can better understand the impact of the reforms on them and their businesses
- Join up services for clients so they can access what they need more easily and locally
- Move towards e-business and more efficient ways of working.
