HMRC information and leaflets

  • Large print forms: Representatives asked whether large print forms and leaflets were available via the orderline. HMRC confirmed that these items were available.

[John Andrews, LITRG, response 21 December 2007]

  • Availability of leaflets: HMRC were asked about the availability of leaflets following a call to the orderline. They confirmed that at present WTC 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7 are available updated to download on the website. WTC 1, 5, 7 are currently being arranged for print.

[Katie Lane, CAB, response 9 November 2007]

  • Availability of leaflets: HMRC were asked about availability of leaflets in enquiry centres, particular leaflets relating to NI contributions. One enquiry centre had told an adviser that HMRC were moving away from leaflets. Representatives flagged this as a worrying trend. HMRC reported back that any customer is actively seeking information in the form of a specific existing leaflet should be able to obtain a copy. Their preference is for claimants to get the information from speaking to staff. Enquiry centres should have an appropriate range of up to date HMRC leaflets, with the facility to print out guidance on request. EC staff should be aware of reordering and restocking procedures.
